On November 29, 2022 Townsend Fire Company along with Clayton Fire Company, Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown and Citizens Hose Company were dispatched for a Structure Fire on Edgar Rd.  Upon arrival crews found a single family home, with smoke conditions on the first floor. Crews worked to find the source of the smoke, it was found to be caused by a hoverboard. The scene was placed under control and held to Townsend and Volunter Hose Company units.
